How the numbers are calculated

• Platform fee = selling price × fee % + fixed fee. The presets are the published headline rates; they are deliberately editable because the real number depends on your plan, category and country.
• Profit = revenue − platform fee − product cost − shipping − ad cost. Refunds are not in this breakdown: use the profit calculator when you want the refund allowance in the picture.

Where this calculator earns its keep is the comparison. The same sale on two platforms can differ by whole margin points, and the difference is rarely visible until the fee lines sit next to each other.

Questions sellers ask

Are these exactly the fees my platform charges?

No, and any calculator claiming that is guessing. The presets are the commonly published headline rates and they are meant to be edited: platforms vary by plan, product category, country and payment method. Change the two fee fields to what your statement shows and the result is exact.

Why does eBay take more than Shopify?

eBay’s final value fee bundles the marketplace commission and payment processing into one charge, while Shopify separates its small payment fee from everything else you handle yourself. Comparing the two on fees alone is not the whole picture: marketplaces bring buyers, your own store brings none of them for free.

Does this include listing fees or monthly subscriptions?

No. This is the per-order calculation: what one sale costs you at the moment it happens. Listing fees, monthly platform subscriptions and returns processing are fixed or periodic costs, and they belong in your overall margin math rather than in a per-order fee table.

Is my data stored or uploaded?

No. Every calculation runs locally in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to any server, and there is no account.
